In The Beginning
Naval Lodge No. 24 in Pensacola, Florida, has a rich history that traces its roots back to its establishment in 1851. Originally founded at the U.S. Navy Base (NAS Pensacola) in Warrington Village, the lodge was formed to serve the Navy personnel and civilians of the area, creating a sense of camaraderie and brotherhood among the members.
The lodge witnessed major historical events such as the Civil War, where Pensacola, being occupied by Union Soldiers, was a key location during the war.
New Beginnings
Over the years, as Pensacola grew and the needs of the lodge evolved, it eventually moving to its current location on Navy Boulevard in 1932. The transition to this new space came at a time of significant national and local change along with the establishment of the Navy's aviation program in the early 20th century, with NAS Pensacola becoming the birthplace of naval aviation.
